Journal Entry - A Mighty Movement Among the Sateré Tribe
July 28, 2025
What a day! I lost count of the ministry-wide decisions, but the women's ministry alone saw at least 20 people commit to Christ. I am humbled to have shared the story of the woman at the well; God's Spirit was clearly at work.
I had been praying that God would prepare the hearts and minds of those we would meet. He most certainly did. Earlier that day, I learned that the tuxaua’s wife had been praying faithfully for nine years, yet she felt discouraged because she had seen no spiritual movement. That all changed in one afternoon.
Our meeting started typically, but as I shared the story of the woman at the well, both women and men gathered to listen. The Spirit took over, and I emphasized that Jesus’ sacrifice grants us direct, personal access to our Pai Deus (Father God). Salvation means He becomes our Heavenly Father.
At the close, I reminded the women that while the gifts we bring may break, wear out, or be lost, the spiritual gift of eternal life given by God never fades. I invited anyone interested to speak with Silvania and me after prayer. The response was immediate: as soon as Silvania finished, over 20 women rushed toward us, one clinging to me and refusing to let go.
We prayed over them, emphasizing that salvation requires only a sincere confession of sin and a decision to accept Jesus as Lord. Together, they prayed to receive Him. The tuxaua's wife finally saw her nine years of faithful prayer answered in one powerful afternoon. Praise God for His faithfulness!
