The Pink Cup

We noticed it as soon as we entered the school room to play with the kids. The water dispenser was filled with brown water and a plastic pink cup.

Could these kids really be drinking this dirty water? As the morning progressed, one by one, children and adults alike, came to drink the dirty water out of the pink cup, politely placing the cup back in its place so the next villager could quench their thirst.

Could you even imagine your entire school or town drinking filthy water from the same cup? This is not uncommon in the villages along the Amazon and is the main reason Amazon Outreach teams come to drill water wells providing fresh water. One out of every five deaths in children under the age of five worldwide is caused from water related diseases. Clean water to drink not only gives better health but is a perfect way to present the gospel.

...but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst.” John 4:14

Thank you to all who have been a part of providing clean water to villagers along the Amazon. Their lives were forever changed because of your sacrifice.
