$50,000 Matching Grant, Hallelujah!
|Dear Amazon Outreach Family,
On my last trip to the Amazon I saw the beauty of what happens on the river. At that time, I was seeking the Lord’s will about leaving my church to become the Executive Director of AO. The humble villagers, the fellowship and worship on the boat, holistically sharing the gospel at the ends of the earth, and the incredible beauty of God’s creation; it all broke me for this mission. I left with these clear convictions, ‘AO needs to continue, it needs to expand, and it would be a privilege to lead this awesome mission.’
I’m very excited about what the Lord is already doing in my first few months. We have a new fully engaged board and staff, new trips are verbally committed for 2018, our budget is streamlined, and we have expanded our volunteer base. New trips are being developed and morale is incredibly high. God is working and it has been fun to watch!
However, due to a series of leadership changes over the past two years, little trip development occurred and our donor base dwindled. These factors have created a short runway for us to get this mission back on track. We need to raise $100,000 in the next two months, and another $250,000 in the fall.
I’ve been praying and wondering how in the world God was going to provide for this mission. I am excited to say, part of His answer came this past Friday. The Good News Outreach Foundation called to offer us a $50,000 matching grant!
Hallelujah! Through God’s grace, He has provided a way for Amazon Outreach to continue to minister to the villagers along the river. After we raise our first $50,000, the GNOF will match it 100%!
The board and staff have fully committed to financially and prayerfully support this mission. Join us in prayer and consider making an immediate donation to AO. Together we can raise $100,000 over the next two months!
I cannot wait to meet you and share all of the miracles God has been doing to get us to this point. In my next letter, I’ll share other ways you can help extend the gospel on the river.
Great Days Ahead,
